Do long haired Guinea pigs have short-ish length hair when they are young?

We have a crested guinea pig and so we bought her a friend, he crested piggie is only a couple of moths older than our new piggie.

The new piggie is now about 4-5 months old.. She has a crest/rosette on her head like a crested but she has quite long hair at the back and she has what looks like eyebrows (made out of long fur that sticks out. I have seen websites that say this is a sign of a coronet guinea pig. I think she probably is but are they born with fur that isn't longer than a short haired guinea pigs? and how lond does it take for them to grow fully long length hair?

Yes this is completly normal like humans, a newborn baby doesn't have 2 foot long hair do they? Also, long haired guinea pigs are either peruvian or coronet in breed.

Yes, this is completely normal. It is kind of like us when we are born we don`t have alot of hair then we grow it, hamsters do this as well.

Good Luck!
