Curling long straight hair?

I have long hair and I bought something to make curls but it once I finally manage to get it all done it starts getting straight again! Do you know any hair product (like gel spray or smt) that I could use to make the curls last longer?

i know this will sound totally crazy but trust me this works. First put some 'herbal escence totally twist gel' and then take a ceramic straightner and put your hair between the ceramic irons but curl your hair at the same time. Don't just pull the ceramic iron through your hair like you want to straighten it but twist a part of your hair on one of the iron pads and close it and keep it for 10 seconds or so and then let it open slowly. DON'T DRAG THE IRON but JUST OPEN IT AND TAKE IT OUT OF THAT PART OF YOUR HAIR. Trust me it worked for me and it stayed with me till i showered next morning. It was totally cool. My friends were like 'omg! what did you do to your hair!?!' I told them i used a straightener and they were all gawking and telling me that i can never use a straightener for curling hair. Just between you and me you can!

There is a curling shampoo out there whereever you are, try using that

I have long straight hair and I have tried many things to make the curl stay in it over the years. The only thing that makes it stay in is to get a perm...nothing else will hold it.

This is what I usually do to curl my hair. I wash it and then I let it air dry until it is just a little damp. You can also use the hair dryer if you don't have a lot of time. Use different sized curlers and start from the bottom of your hair and roll it up almost to the root. Once your whole head is rolled up spray it with a mild hairspray, one that is not too strong. You can either sleep like this, or use a hairdryer to dry your hair completely. When you unroll the curls you want to just use your fingers to separeate them a little bit. Then use the same hairspray and it should hold the curls for at least the whole day. Hope this advice will help you.

well when i tried curling shampoo it didn't work...but maybe i was using a bad brand. well try tresseme freeze hold hairspray. or put Pantene curling mousse through it. but make sure you use either product directly after you curl your hair

Aussie Maximum Gel and Sprunch Spray. My daughter swears it works - oh and she says to blow dry it.

I have the same problem...usually I use a thermal protection spray and a hot curling iron. When you curl a section, don't make it a thick one, it's harder for the heat to penetrate. Also try to leave the new formed curl alone until it is completely cool. It has a better chance of staying that way. Also, it sounds like you should load the hairspray on after, but a light misting is fine. It could weigh down the curl and therefore straighten it out. Loreal Vive Pro makes a great style infusing shampoo and conditioner to give your hair a head start. Good luck!
