Why is there so much opposition to long hair on men even when its well groomed and clean?

A few pointers here, during the mid 60's long haired men came into the spotlight, they were treated like a discriminated

race. To this day employers still say, hey you have to get a haircut, but they don't tell women to cut their hair, nor do they tell women they have to keep it long. Biblically in 11 chapter of 1st Corinthians it states in so many words it as a shame to a man to have long hair, and say women are to keep their hair long. So I know there is a religious issue here also. But religion shouldn't be in employment. And of course the military branches cut mens hair, but again not women. So again a military thought about long hair on men also. But military shouldn't be in employment, unless its military. Not speaking agaisnt women here, just stating what is put on men with long hair.

I love a man with well kept long hair. yes i do.

because many men go bald which causes them to hate men who still can grow a nice healthy head of hair

I think long hair on a guy looks nice, and I agree with you about discrimination in the workplace. I have never understood their line of thinking there. When I go to a bank, office, or any other place where formal attire is the norm, I don't really care what the people who help me look like or are wearing, just as long as they are nice and do their job.

I agree with you. If people look at the picture most known of as Jesus...it depicts long hair. Some of our most honored military men had long hair...our founding fathers the men who fought the Alamo. National hero's had long hair...Buffalo Bill, Kit Carson etc.

It was really the onset of the first and second world wars that pushed the point of short hair on men.

It shouldn't matter what a person- male or female- looks like as long as they can do the job, but this is a superficial society.
